After Franklin D. Richards, an Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the County was founded in 1913 and was given that name. The only Franklin County in the US not named after Benjamin Franklin is this one. Idaho's Oldest Town is also located in Franklin County.
